A1GP Drivers taken on a 'drive' of a different kind
A1GP has once again hit Taupo and the town is abuzz with the huge programme of motorsport planned for the Auckland Anniversary weekend.
Always popular with the A1GP drivers, Taupo has become a favourite destination on the circuit and this year, we are really turning it on for them once again.
This morning, a group of drivers took part in a PR exercise which seemed more like fun than work for them - they learned the haka at Wairakei Terraces and then came out to visit us at Hukafalls Jet for a 20min ride to the base of the spectacular Huka Falls. As they were on a tight timeline, we had to cut down our usual trip for them, however we managed to include just as many 360 degree spins as we knew they liked adrenalin sports!
They were buzzing by the time they came off the water and now seem ready to hit the race track behind the wheel of their super fast racing cars. Some of them indicated that they'd like to drive a jet boat one day so we've explained that with 100hrs training, anything is possible!
