THREE ORGANISATIONS TO BENEFIT FROM HUKAFALLS JET'S LOCALS WEEKEND

Hukafalls Jet has announced the three organisations that will benefit from this year’s Locals Weekend.  They are SPCA Taupo, The Lake Taupo Volunteer Rural Fire Force and Northwood Kindergarten.   Marketing Manager Michelle Caldwell reports that this year they had a huge interest from a variety of charitable organisations operating in Taupo.  “There are so many people doing such wonderful work for the community in our region which is really encouraging, but it was difficult to pick the successful organisations.  We believe we have selected a fantastic cross-section of our community and each of the businesses will be present with demonstrations and displays to keep the locals entertained throughout the weekend. ”

Activities taking place over the weekend include bead making, sausage sizzle, fire truck demonstrations, puppy and kitten displays, face painting and much, much more.  There will also be the opportunity for a local child to win a trip to school in a fire truck!

The weekend, which is on 8th and 9th November is hotly anticipated by Taupo locals and this year will be no exception.  Once again Taupo locals will have the opportunity to take a ride on the world famous Hukafalls Jet for the unbelievable price of only $20 per person.   All proceeds will again be donated to charity and the company will cover the costs of operating for the weekend, including fuel and wages.   Tickets can be pre-booked by visiting Experience Taupo on Tongariro Street from 1st November.   Photo ID and proof of address must be presented before boarding the boat.   Cash only sales will be available on the day.

Locals weekends at Hukafalls Jet have been part of the Taupo activity calendar for the past 8 years, and over that time, well over $60,000 has been donated to local charities and organisations to help benefit projects in the local community and more than 4000 locals have taken the opportunity to have a unique and up-close water level view of the famous Huka Falls from the jet boat.

“We’re hoping we can break last year’s record of raising $16,000 so we hope to see as many locals out as possible,” says Ms Caldwell.
