Hukafalls Jet scoops top honours at Westpac Waikato Business Excellence Awards
Hukafalls Jet was last night awarded the Wintech Hospitality, Entertainment and Tourism Award at the Westpac Waikato Business Excellence Awards black tie dinner held at Mystery Creek in Hamilton.
Hukafalls Jet beat off tough competition to take out top honours in the category, with this year seeing a higher number of entrant companies than ever before.
Marketing Manager, Michelle Caldwell said: “We are extremely proud of the commitment and capability of our employees who ensure we deliver a world-class tourism experience for our customers and it’s very rewarding to receive such recognition for the efforts they put in.”
Hukafalls Jet was also named winner of the ACC Workplace Safety category with the judges commenting on the excellent Health and Safety record held by the business and the absolute commitment to employee well-being.
2006/7 has been an eventful year for Hukafalls Jet, having completed a successful rebrand project, introduced a brand new fleet of twin-engined state-of-the-art jet boats, experienced unprecedented growth in revenue and passenger yield, built a brand new workshop, and refurbished their retail shop and base building to name but a few of the projects undertaken.
Ray Lewis, CEO of the Waikato Chamber of Commerce stated: "It is so important that we take opportunities such as this to acknowledge organisations in our region that are going the extra mile and punching above their weight in the commercial arena. These organisations blaze a trail for all companies in the region to pick up their game and grow their own business."
