Working at Hukafalls Jet

Working with the team at Hukafalls Jet isn't your usual 9-5 job.   Imagine coming to work with the sole purpose of entertaining and delighting visitors from all over the world?

If you're interested in working at Hukafalls Jet, there are a variety of roles that might suit you.

We employ Customer Service staff and Jet Boat drivers from a wide variety of backgrounds, but most important is your willingness to smile and talk openly to our customers.  We look for personality plus in our team members!!  If you have an interest in photography, this will also come in handy.

MECHANIC / JET BOAT DRIVER

A spanner in one hand, wheel in the other.  There aren’t many mechanics who can claim to drive jet boats as part of their working day! Our boats have to be in tip-top mechanical condition and it’s you who will ensure this. All boats are checked daily and of course there is the routine servicing to take care of too.

Once they’re on the water, or ready for it, you’ll be able to take your turn behind the wheel – giving our visitors the thrill of a life time! You’ll be a qualified mechanic (preferably familiar with Motec), or have a related trade. Welding experience would come in handy too. You’ll have personality enough to entertain passengers, a relatively good level of fi tness, attention to detail in abundance and be willing to commit to a minimum of 2 years in the role.

Come on, convince us you’re the one we’re looking for! Forward your expression of interest to Simon Thew, email simon.thew "at" hukafallsjet.com by Wednesday 2 May 2012.

JET BOAT DRIVER

Jettison the mundane!

We’re one of NZ’s iconic tourist attractions, and this is your chance to jettison the mundane by joining our team of professional jet boat drivers. Can’t you just imagine your day at the office?!

A typical day will see you, and your passengers, speeding past native bush, sheer rock cliff faces and natural hot springs enroute to viewing the majestic Huka Falls. Along the way you’ll make a jet boat do things they don’t ordinarily do too! We’re serious about fun but equally so about the training you’ll receive and the standards we maintain and for this reason ask you to commit to a minimum two year contract. We think you’ll agree with our team that is not tough!

It’s fun, it’s exhilarating but it’s hard yakka too so you’ll be physically able and mentally alert. You’ll love the outdoors and sharing it with our clients. Chances are you’re a bit of a natural entertainer too! Some mechanical know how would be ideal but we shan’t leave you stranded if not. Rostered shifts, including weekends and public holidays come with the territory. We know you’ll find the remuneration competitive and you’ll get free health insurance too.

Ready to leave the mundane behind? Email your application to Michelle Amataiti, michelle.amataiti "at" nttourism.co.nz.
